I checked “Assign Source A1” and it now works ok.

You will find this by right clicking in the far left of the audio track in the sequence/timeline panel and selecting from the pop up menu.

Cant remember needing to do this in CS6 !!!

Having the same problem as well. Audio with MXF files ok, but DV avi the audio track wont drag in with the video
