The Civil War movie Cold Mountain with Nichole Kidman and Jude Law was edited in FCP.
If you edit for hire the job market is pretty much Avid or FCP. If you edit for yourself pick what is most effective for you. For me that was Vegas V. 4 which I am still on. We shall see about Vegas V. 7.
For me, my purchase depends on V. 7 improvements of text presets. Like everyone else I am pretty much straight cut or fade to/from black in the body of a program, but when it comes to intro/outro Vegas is weak with text effects in general for example one letter at a time slide in/out or a shakey text effect are presently non existant. Text scrolling is another area screaming for improvement.

I live in a remote location and am looking for a multiplatform instructor. You never know, but it is unlikely I will get a cert. instructor. I just need the questions to filter out the obvious unqualified.
