I have to put 1 second of black in the beginning and the end. So it has to go to the timeline first.
Then I can send it to Media Encoder ….
Bring it in as a new project….I have to pick settings, that is what I am not sure of?

    I have a finished mpeg4…20.8 GB… I been asked to make a .MOV

    below are the instructions
1 VIDEO MASTER | Apple Pro Res (HQ) in .MOV container with PCM 48.000 kHz 16-bit Audio
    • Must contain at least one frame of black at the beginning and end, but no more than 1 second

It seems that the feature film has an opportunity to go to distribution…the original clips are gone. All that is left is the full HD mpeg4. I was told it could be brought back into PP [there has to be 1 sec of black beginning and end.

I am not sure what other information to give.

I’m not a professional, working with local filmmakers. One of the monitor is not useable for anything editing at all. Everything is done on an inexpensive Acer which actually not bad to my surprise. I am willing to invest in something a little better so I can use both monitors give myself more real estate, especially for the timeline. Not thought about TV. Your suggests and the one before are giving me at least something to start with for investigating.
Thanks for taking the time to respond…Sz

Thank you for taking the time to respond. You have given me enough information to start looking with new food for thought. I am not a professional, I do just enough independent editing to want to do a good a job as possible, if just for myself. So thanks again for taking the time. Best Suzin

Thank you for taking the time for the tutorial.
Looks like another option for inserting and will try to take advantage.

I am still curious why using the insert icon does not work properly when having in/out points from the source monitor. Will only insert to the beginning of the timeline. What is throwing me off, I been inserting this way for almost a year without a problem.

I’m sorry I not sure I understand track selected source patched.

For insert – the cursor is where I would want the clip inserted, when I click on the insert icon the clip goes to the beginning of the timeline.

In trying to make a space I did a tutorial where I learned about the track selection tool. I was so happy to have thought problem solved…

For the track selection tool, the main track moved down beautifully, I did not realize that only the main track and audio moved down, none of the lower audio tracks and the one video track above did not. I did not realize that right away.
I am wondering now, like in Vegas 13 when you use the track selection tool, you have to also click on all track, markers and
regions somewhere, so all move down.

Thank you for your add. All information does help. It’s an ongoing learning process for me. I am not always very precise, my bad. It’s the small monitor at this time. Good to have your information, someday maybe, I won’t have to ask, you have given me the information.

    Thanks for taking the time
