Copying the timeline into a new project appears to have solved the issue!! Thank you so much. Drinks. Dinner. are on me.

I cleared the cache (using CleanMyMac 3 for anyone that may have a similar need) but, unfortunately, did not fix this specific issue. But creating the new project did solve the issue.
