Hello,
I came across this thread regarding problems with adobe audition. I have tried everything under the sun to fix the problem I am having with playback and recording on my set up.
The problem is that when I open up a project to record an additional track or two, it “skips” during recording and playback (same spots) sometimes it records and when I stop, one or two of the tracks that were armed to record clears as if nothing was recorded on them.
It was working before, so maybe when I re-installed Adobe Audition and some of third party plug ins different codecs or rearranged file types assignments may have caused these problems. I dont know.
I fixed the same probelm on my home computer but only because i downloaded a trail version of Adobe Audition and it fixed everything! I also downloaded the codec package for windows media player….
Like you, I have a small state of the art studio (I’m in Pasco, WA)and this problem has claimed the lives of a few client accounts! Its a nightmare. Latency settings I’ve tried do not seem to effect or remedy the problem.
I even purchased a new computer- a server with a pentium 4 hyper thread technology, 3.2 Ghz, with 1 gig of ram and a FSB of 800 mHz. I thought my video card was causing the problem(I installed a Radeon Xtasy so I can connect two monitors) and I changed the type of firewire card as well, but to no avail. This is getting expensive and I cant even record one track….
I am using two Presonus Firepods and they are installed correctly. My computer does not have internet access. No viruses here. I have installed Windows service pack one and it should be working!
Could my Adobe program disk be corrupted? If so, could you suggest a particular settings or device order. OR if you don’t mind, could I aquire a copy of adobe audition if you think I may have a bad disk? I would be more than happy to donate something for your help. I have other programs & plug ins and loops That I wouldn’t mind sharing with a fellow recording aritist.
Thank you, Alex
