You can try with old application Scene detector Pro. If this makes any sense.

Thanks, it helps me a lot.
Way back in time in first versions of FcpX same process for recovering event was to reimport a camera archives.

For Mac OS 10.8 and later
1. Move/Delete Perian preference panes
2. Delete everything from MachintoshHD/Library/adobe/Common/Plug-ins/ except CS6 folder

Start AE !

Same problem back from Motion 3
