If you can use a dingbat font, you can use the text tool to make text (arrows) that follow a path (mask).

You could also search the COW for “arrow”.

That’s great! Lots of fun. I especially like when you break the frame, or have fun with it. The mix of cuts and pans is also good.

One thing: when you pan diagonally, you might want to insert some dummy panels — it looks as if the start and end panel are the only ones on the page.

You could use the sky footage as a 2D background layer, filling the comp frame …?

If that won’t work, why do you need to scale it up?

    Is this the tape format?
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HDCAM_SR
Note that you will receive TIFFs that have been made from this format.

An uncompressed 8-bpc 1920×1080 TIFF (which can be made with AE or PS alone) came out to be 5.9 MB. Maybe your Post person is talking about 10-bpc TIFFs. (10-bit-per-channel)

There’s no such thing as “a TIFF frame of HD SR 4:4:4”. I think we’re talking apples (TIFFs) and oranges (HD SR compressed footage). You will not be working in HD SR format — you will be working in 1920×1080 uncompressed TIFFs, right?

You need to know if they want 8-bpc or 10-bpc TIFFs, at what compression, if any. You must know *exactly* what the post house wants from you, in terms more specific than you’ve given us so far… 🙂

… because the FRAPS codec isn’t a Quicktime codec.

    Regarding the FRAPS codec:

“The Fraps codec (FPS1) is put on the system when you install Fraps. If you’ve reinstalled Windows you will also need to reinstall Fraps in order to play back your movies.

Please keep in mind that if you want to give your raw footage to another person they will also need to have Fraps installed.”

It looks as if the text passes over something that affects it. See how the blobs seem to be static relative to the type?

Usually good effects are a combination of multiple effects and layers. Below the type layer may be a copy of the type layer, with an adjustment layer with the displacement map effect applied, or maybe turbulent displace. I mention the adjustment layer because the effect seems to be applied after the type’s motion has been applied.

Instead of the adjustment layer you may also apply the Transform effect to move the type, then apply turnbulent displace to the copy below.

Well … though the format you stated seems to run at 800mb/sec, meaning 100 MB/sec, 6GB/min, 360 GB/hour … I assumed you’d be working with *uncompressed* TIFFs, which would equate to uncompressed video sizes, I’m assuming.

If you want, you can make a TIFF at 1920×1080, check its size, then do the math.

Anybody else, please feel free to correct my figures …

Those who know don’t say, and those who say don’t know.

In other words, those who know are under NDA, and those who talk about it aren’t in the know. Personally, I have no idea, and Adobe historically has avoided discussing features until shipping time.
