You’re welcome… Still if you already have Quicktime Pro, you can easily do your conversions with that.

Yes, i use them on “overlay and adjust the track opacity or use screen/mulitply etc”, that’s how its done.
And for those with mattes, you place the mattes on a track above the footage, then make the tracks Parent/Child
Composite….. Then you set the composite mode of the matte track to multiply, then add the
Luminance mask filter” from from the Mask Generator to the same matte track, and you’re done.
Or you can further tweak and fiddle with the settings to get the desired effect you seek.

I’ve never used their free samples, so i am wondering if the issue are with just those. As for the rest of their collection,
everything imports in Vegas quite fine for me.

With alpha channels or without or with Mattes.
Vegas handles them all efficiently, the only thing is that Vegas’s approach in achieving an effect vastly
differs from how you would achieve that same effect in after effects or another compositing software.

So whatever is done with them in say after effects, can be equally achieved within Vegas. But you may have to do
a quick search online how to handle the various methods of compositing mattes in Vegas, if you are not familiar
    with it.

Visiting your system once per month for validation is not a subscription payment plan Russ.
But i will admit, i really do not like that method of software validation still.

Russ, no need to worry about a subscription model at least for now, they clearly mention that they are
not going down that route at all….

That is nothing to be concerned over Aaron, Vegas collection is not gonna follow any of that trend…
And will also help them to step up their game.

Wow, you are on a roll Carlos, lol
In the meantime, for the missing features within Vegas, thankfully their are many efficient plugins from other vendors
    that fills in it’s shortcomings.
