Steve Fanale has been at the leading edge of Australiaʼs interactive and digital media industry for over a decade. Following time in a series of senior executive roles at Young & Rubicam and APL Digital where he developed specialist expertise in marketing, media, management and production, he decided to take the plunge and start up his own interactive agency, MassMedia Studios, in 2000.
From its beginnings in Sydney with just two staff, MassMedia Studios has grown to become an Australian leader in the provision of digital and interactive services, opening offices in London and New York in 2006, expanding its team to more than fifty employees and adding global brands like Audi, Cadbury, Unilever, Vue Entertainment and Yahoo!7 to its key client list.
In 2003 Steveʼs team began work on the development of Traction, a relationship marketing platform that helps brands interact with, learn about and effectively target their customers across all marketing channels. Highly regarded across the digital marketing industry in Australia, Traction has grown into a global platform with clients across North America, Europe and Asia including Cadbury, Foxtel, Adobe, Audi, Diageo and Unilever.
In 2007 Steve successfully sold MassMedia to the BlueFreeway group and in early 2008 he took on an interim COO role at BlueFreeway as part of an overhaul of the groupʼs management structure. Steve was instrumental in the successful effort to improve the groupʼs internal processes and stabilize its financial position. With new investment in the group and solid strategy for long term growth in place at BlueFreeway, Steve returned to his role at MassMedia Studios where he spearheaded the companyʼs success into the next phase within the IPMG group of businesses.
