Hard to troubleshoot. Definitely a conflict somewhere. I can’t interpret crash report. Latest version is 1.50.

You realized your mistake but you did not choose the correct sequence setting that matches the codec, frame rate and frame size of what you shot. There are many flavors of HD. Choose the right one.

Try this workflow. Export a self-contained movie (nice to have a Digital copy). Drop that file into Compressor and choose your bit rate hit submit. Create your DVD in DVDSP.

If you do not see a freeze in your Self-contained movie, then something is happening in the encode.

Reformat the cards in the camera then try to reformat them using P2Formatter.

I do experience this every now and then. A restart always works for me.

Worst case scenario, delete P2Formatter and reinstall. Repair your computers permissions (Disk Utility).

Personally, I have never owned or used. I did get to see a pre-release version that caught my interest.

The HPG20 can work well with the EVS.
Pros: AVCIntra recording

I have used the AJA KiPro with the EVS. Also the ioHD in/out via FCP in TV truck.
While I love and support Panasonic products, the KiPro offers more in/out options. It only records to ProRes codec. Works well with FCP.

Sounds like a corrupt clip. One way to troubleshoot is to take your media offline (drag to a different location drive) and open your project. Also could be a conflict with a transition or filter.

To find the clip, reconnect the media little by little.

What you are seeing is normal. Create your text in Motion and use a ProRes setting.
