Have you tried changing the duration on a video clip rather than the stills using the same technique?

[Michael Lescord] “Again thanks for the help, and I apologize for the frustration but it really shouldn’t be this hard. This is pretty basic stuff after all. Maybe I should go back to iMovie or just give up and accept the loss.”

I understand you’re frustrated but this is a system problem NOT a functionality problem, I’ve just tried 600 stills and it works every time.

    Select all clips – Ctrl-D – 1 – return

[Andrew Johnstone] “I have resisted FCPX for as long as has been humanly possible, but now that BBC are rolling it out across the regions, I have no choice.

Resistance is futile I’m afraid ☺ BBC rolling out FCPX across the regions?

Bad news is that you can’t do that in FCPX I’m afraid – unless I’m mistaken? You can only resize the “Primary” window

[Mark Suszko] “So… worth it / safe to update right away…? or should I wait for the inevitable “Heyyy! That wasn’t supposed to happen!!!’

Yes update – it’s not Premiere Pro 🙂

[Oliver Peters] “So Rush/Premiere seem to create the same synergy as iMovie/FCPX,”

But iMovie isn’t exactly a joy to use on mobile devices, I’d rather it was something like this with a bit more functionality https://luma-touch.com/lumafusion-for-ios/

Nice idea, looks very familiar though ☺ It does export straight to social media so Bill will like it.

Looks like Adobe have figured that they are losing out in the Vlogger space so they thought they’d try a different approach. I wonder what the rent will be?

    It’s a shame there isn’t a benchmark for editing speed 🙂

[Bernard Newnham] “[Robin S. Kurz] “Resolve? I doubt it, unless it improves and is adopted A LOT more. Great price tag, sure. Just too bad that you can’t get any video signal IN OR OUT without buying… you got it… BMD hardware. Oops. Not so cheap after all.”

Given that a BlackMagic Intensity Pro 4k costs £165.98 here in the UK, it would seem to be rather cheaper than subscribing to Adobe. Runs on PC or Mac.

Exactly, you also need to buy hardware to get video in to FCPX as well so you’d probably end up buying BMD anyway as it’s so cheap.

  • [Robin S. Kurz] “Right. Because, as we all know, the iMac Pro is just a complete sloth and not worthy of a “pro”, but totally aimed at non-pro noobs. ????

[Steve Connor] “I don’t think there’s any Mac user whose happy with the state of Mac Hardware at the moment (well perhaps one!)”

    Sorry I meant two!

  • I don’t think there’s any Mac user whose happy with the state of Mac Hardware at the moment (well perhaps one!)

I think we all tolerate the glacial development pace, however there is at least some sense that Apple realise this and will hopefully start to change things over the next year or two. For me I think the new Mac Pro will tell us if they are really serious about keeping Pros on board.

I need a new MacBook Pro but I’m holding on until the next revision just in case!
