Nice idea, looks very familiar though ☺ It does export straight to social media so Bill will like it.

Looks like Adobe have figured that they are losing out in the Vlogger space so they thought they’d try a different approach. I wonder what the rent will be?

Adobe already has an iOS editing tool, but it’s pretty limited. Prelude also includes some “pre-edit” assembly functions. It would seem that this app would eventually replace those other two. Probably not a Premiere replacement, but conceivably it could grow into that. Right now it seems that it would initially be a competitor to LumaFusion.

The bottom line seems to be to fulfill a need to get more video out into the world faster, albeit maybe with a sacrifice in quality and finesse. I guess that’s the Facebook/YouTube world. But for now, it’s an interesting beta.

So Rush/Premiere seem to create the same synergy as iMovie/FCPX, except with better media support, more device compatibility, and more universal syncing. Or so the theory goes.

But iMovie isn’t exactly a joy to use on mobile devices, I’d rather it was something like this with a bit more functionality https://luma-touch.com/lumafusion-for-ios/

I suspect Apple has many of the things that make X, X patented. The magnetic timeline, the range based keywording system, etc. etc.

If Adobe has managed to re-create all similar functionality into something that won’t cause THEIR existing user base to scream at them in anguish for 3 years – more power to them.; )

I think this is exactly right. But are they Pro’s? ;-). And will PR be confusing against Pr? It’s more like an iMovie competitor.

I hope to be at Max in a few months in LA and it will be interesting to see where this product will be at in the near future. I thought the Spark Video app was to cover this space or is that a step below Rush (although I did read somewhere that the adoption of the Spark apps has been abysmal…)?
