Cue “it’ll be too expensive” and “it doesn’t run Nvidia cards”

    BTW what’s that screen!!!

Quite a bit more detail than expected

  • [David Mathis] “I love FCPX but the news of a subscription based model does not sit well.”

    ?????

It’s not actually “News” is it? Not yet anyway

[Bill Davis] “license X’s magnetic approach, “

The “Clip” window is definitely a first step in that Direction!

[Ronny Courtens] “Anything that gets added to FCP X is welcome, as long as it does not affect its core features which are performance and reliability.”

    Amen to that at least.

That’s very good news, I’m still going to wait a couple of months before I get one, just in case

And in the meantime BMD will release half a dozen feature updates for Resolve.

Development on FCPX is clearly slowing down, hopefully because Apple are busily working on FCPXI

So this should find it’s way into the iMac too?

    [David Lawrence] “https://gizmodo.com/adobe-warns-using-old-creative-cloud-apps-might-get-you…

Yeah, a software subscription model is sooooo much better for the customer, lol!”

    Hi David, welcome back 🙂

  • [Andrew Kimery] “Visually this episode was really pushing the boundary of what the creators want the audience to experience and what the typical viewer is capable of experiencing with their home setup.

I think it was a very brave decision by the Producers but I think it was well worth it.

Despite the groaning and whingeing by some people on the web, I think it was one of the finest pieces of television ever produced.

[Bill Davis] “I couldn’t disagree more. On the other active FCP X web locations – there are thousands and thousands of those active discussions about all sorts of FCP X topics still taking place daily.

Just this week, I’ve chatted about database design, roles strategies, all sorts of import and export issues – not to mention all the discussion of the Apple announcement of the coming EOL of access to the old Quicktime-based codecs in the next revision of MacOS and how that will effect editors going forward.”

Sadly I can’t find these “interesting” discussions on the Facebook groups, most seem to be full of technical questions that are similar to the “other” FCPX Forum on the COW.

Also I don’t want to just hang out with people that use FCPX, I really enjoyed the discussions from the broad group of Editors that used to contribute here.
