I’m editing MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 (MOV) video files and am having a tough time. Does Vegas 10 have the codec for this. What should I render too after editing. I want to make dvds and upload to youtube.
Trouble is after I edit and render I wind up with missing video. Black spaces in the rendered video. It doesn’t seem to matter which format I render too. And the black spaces are random, different clips at different renders. Almost never the same clip. I may get a good 20 min. video 1 of 8 tries. Been work at fixing this for weeks. Upgrade the computer from i3 and new video card.
I’m using Window 7 64bit, Vegas 10 64bit i7, 8 gig ram, quadro 2000, solid state harddrive, and the latest quicktime. -
Yes Nigel, I have reinstalled and I uninstalled Vegas again after reading your post, restarted and even redownloaded vegas pro 64 bit and then reinstalled. Still Vaast won’t install. Still says there is no Vegas installed on my computer.
At this point I’m stuck with doing small file with no video enhancements. I also had these type problems with my old computer. That is why I bought a new one.

Yes I do have 64bit Vegas and Windows.
And Steve Mann, when I get to hkey_local_machine\software\microsoft\sqmclient\windows\disabledsessions, there is no machine throttling. Only (Default) REG_SZ value not set. Does anyone think reinstalling windows could fix the problem, if it is a window problem.

OK, I tried it with the changes and no luck. I got this message when Rendering. An error occurred while creating the media file Doug’s engage party .mpg
The system is low on memory. You may be able to reduce memory usage by closing other applications
The camera I am using does mov. files. So I’m converting from that to mpeg2 for DVD. But it doesn’t matter what I am converting to it’s still the same. These are long. About 8 gigs being rendered.
I can do short 5 or 10 minute videos, but still have error problems with Vegas stopped messages while editing and trimming or ever changing the volume.
I do have quicktime ver. 7.6.9 (1680.9). Should I buy quicktime pro. or should I adjust something in QT preferences?I will try the futher suggestions from Stephen Mann next.

Thanks Steve. No integrity problems with the results of the scan. I did turn off UAC and I have no Norton(I learned for myself about hungry Norton along time ago). I had tried rendering after disconnecting from internet and then turning off my virus protection (Panda Cloud) with no luck. I will also turn off my BBE sonic maximizer audio pluggin today and try rendering again. With latest windows update. If that doesn’t work, I’ll get into the hokey key tomorrow. Thank you so much for trying to help.

One audio pluggin. BBE’s sonic maximizer sweet. It’s a VST pluggin.
I could try not using it. -
Hi Stephen, It’s windows 7 64bit. Vegas pro has stopped. Period. I am sure someone has gotten this notice. It happens at any givin time and under different situations.
