    Hi There,

i have had quite a bit of experience with filming, editing and motion graphics for output on various video wall / plasma display configurations.

one job for example was for three plasmas verticaly mounted,
i had to film various sequences and create motion graphics to run across all three screens.

for filming i made a rig which held three Cannon XL2’s on their side and angled them correctly to capture a collective image of 1728 x 1024. i.e. three wide screens on their side,

i then recreated the plasma configuration in after effects and worked the whole peice as one composition.

then made three DVD’s for playback in sync-able dvd players.

recently i was doing a peice for a horizontal run of 22 x 48″ plasmas,

i recreated the screen config in aftereffects and worked on all 22 screens!

its a heafty feat of aftereffectism, but well worth it! the plasmas were controlled by some bespoke multimedia video show software that served the seperated composition of 22 videos to 22 mini macs!

    very nice!

hope this is of some use

    best regards

    Hey Larry!

“I can’t find Keyboard Commands in the list for Source Clip Next or Previous, where are these commands?”

they are in the keyboard shortcuts/ windows / monitor windows options,
there are six source clip commands, next, previous, first, last, clear clip and clear all clips.

You can also drag multiple bins into the source monitor and it will load all the clips within the bins!

    Fantastic discovery! for me anyway!

    best regards

    Thanks Larry!
It’s good to know the limits!

I have since developed a wee work around to my initial problem, some folks might be interested.

The closest i can get is to drag all the relevant clips from the bin into the source monitor,

they are then loaded into the source monitors drop down clip list.

by making a keyboard short cut for the commands – “source clip next” and “source clip previous”
i can then select the clips, trim the in and out points and overlay or insert them into the timeline without touching the mouse!

This is great, as i have a lot of cuts only editing to do and my hand/wrist is still recovering!

    yipee, almost!

    best regards

    P.S.
    something else i have learned,
(jumping around the livingroom attached to a new snowboard, doing a snow dance for winter is never a good idea and will inevitably lead to injury!)

    Cheers Dave,

The Ctrl+` is a new one for the list!
    Many thanks,

If there is a shortcut for opening the clip into the source monitor,
A lot of editing could be done without touching the mouse at all!

    Or…

If there is a short cut to emulate the right clicking of a clip, so you can select the
“open in source monitor” option in the right click menu?

    I wonder?

    Any ideas anyone?

    Thanks again Dave!

    Regards
    Steve
