Yeah…and while Adobe is at it, I would LOVE to be able to map the same function to 2 different keys. Why can’t I?

I not only want the “shuttle right” function to be on my “L” key…but (like with early AVID shortcuts) I want it to be on my “5” as well.

Why can’t I have it on both?

Yeah. Checked the iMovie manual and it has zero information on this.

But based on all the responses to this post I’m getting the picture that my movies need to be in DV standard def to be sure that my friend can play them.

    Thanks.

Rafael, Walter, Tom – Thanks so much for your replies.

What you are saying definitely makes sense.

So, am I to deduct that if someone with iMovie downloads the correct ProRes codec at the sight below then they will be able to view my ProRes QT movies in iMovie as well? Or is it just QuickTime that will play them?

I don’t know why I didn’t check the iMovie manual online. I’ll read it to see if there are any other codecs it supports.

    Thanks for all your replies.

    7200 rpm for sure.

I use eSata with my Mac all the time. It doesn’t matter if I’m on the 8 core or I’m on my Mac Book Pro. It works fine.

My buddy had an issue with the eSata card not working on his Mac Book Pro. But once he downloaded the correct driver he was off and running no problem.

    Yeah.

The “red lights” that come up are:

    Mac Mini
    2gb RAM
    2G
    HD sequence with 3 layers.

Sooo…not sure the Mini (with 2gb RAM) can really handle that.

You might want to try your project on a friend’s 8 core…just to see if there is a difference?

How large is your project file? Not with the media. Just the FCP project file.

I’ve had situations where I’ve had a 300mb project file and was it running from my external hard drive. Once I moved the actual project file to my desktop and opened the project from there it ran better.

But, JAAP is right. This could be a number of issues.

    How many layers of video?
    What’s your resolution?
Is your video native to a video setting? Or not?
    RAM?
