I don’t follow. If I want to split a single event and not the other events on other tracks, I just select the event and hit “S”. Why do I need a script?

I think the OP is soliciting someone to sell him score packs that they may have purchased before Cinescore was shut down.

I believe that Cinescore was shut down due to a legal threat from Smartsound. At a recent NAB convention, no one from Sony would say why Cinescore was killed, just that they can’t comment. At the Smartsound booth when asked if they had anything to do with the shutdown of Sony Cinescore, all they would say is “We can’t talk about it” – through a huge “cat got the bird” grin.

    Good news – Bad news.
The veg file crashed here at exactly the same spot, so the bad news is that your veg file itself is the problem and can’t be fixed. The good news is that none of your media can be at fault.

I know that this is too little – too late, but when I have a sizable project, I make versions at milestones in the project using save-as instead of save.

The error is coming from Windows. A file could be locked by another program or you don’t have permission to open the file or you may not be the file owner. (Damned Windows security…) Or the file has moved (but Vegas usually catches that).

Again, let someone else open the veg file (minus the media). If it also fails at the same point, then the problem is in the veg file itself and cannot be fixed. Otherwise, right click on every piece of media in the project (not just the timeline – Vegas loads everything in the Project Media whether it’s used or not).

Here’s a possible fix – it can’t hurt to try – delete all .sfk and .sfl files. Vegas will recreate the as needed. If one of these is corrupt, you could see this error.

Cropped by how much? Older CRT televisions would overscan as much as 10%, but you PC monitor does not overscan at all. Even current LCD and Plazma TV sets do a little overscan. That’s why we have the “Action Safe” overlay in the preview window. Everything in the Action Safe grid is guaranteed to be visible on any playback device.

Windows 7, no problem. I don’t know about Win 8 since I have absolutely no plans to upgrade to 8.

I may have missed it in an earlier post, but just what did the error message say?

Also, another way to make sure your PC recognizes the RAM is to boot into the BIOS, look at your system resources that the board sees, then save the configuration. (You may have to change something then change it back to force a save).

I do know that with early versions of Windows, you always had to go through the BIOS to get Windows to recognize hardware changes. I just do it now out of habit.

    The link is above:

    The password is “vegasuser”.

The reason I THINK that Premiere uses the GPU better than Vegas is because Vegas goes through OFX and Premiere talks directly to the GPU. (This is just speculation on my part, but no one who knows has said either way).

I have no empirical knowledge, just as an observer of the data. (And I’ve never touched a Mac – my hands are still virgin).

GPU support is just that – support. At some point in the arms race of processor power and Cuda Core count, raw processing power will take the lead. In other words, with a sufficiently fast processor, rendering will finish faster without GPU support.

I would think that a pair of quad Xenons would be way past that line.
