Maybe you can teach me a trick. I could not get it to work in Edition 5 or 5.5 and now not 6. I read in the manual that it only works in the stand alone product. How you had it working before as a plugin is a mystery.

Works in Red and Graffiti. Open up wordpad and do your thing and then save as RTF. Now import into graffiti as I mentioned. It is as easy as pie.

Your kidding right? Compose the entire thing in wordpad (windows) bullets and all and save as an rtf file. Now open up Red’s text window and look at the bottom of the window. Do you see an import button? Click it and import the rtf file. Viola. All done (except for sizing and selecting a style). The key is to use wordpad, it always formats the RTF correctly.

    good luck…

Do you mean as the stand alone app or as the plugin to Chrome? The stand alone app will display out of the video cards Y/C connector when you select the enabled monitor under your preferences/preview tab. As I remember the plugin does not allow preview to monitor (for some reason) in any application, Edition or otherwise.

Yes, but the system must see the TV first and then you can go into preferences and select it in the drop down box. Good luck..

  • how many frames is the effect? is it a shor duration with a big movement on the screen? can you save the .red file and post it? I’ll try to simulate for you. Just tell me what your parameters are…

Those types of effects are pretty easy. Try to make one and post it if you can’t get the effect you want. Someone will take a look at it for you.

  • Timeline codec, change it to DIF or DVCPro. AVI or uncompressed will give issues.

What moves do you need that are not ‘tweekable’ from the existing library?

did you export to MOV using the anamiation compression and the millions + color space? the + is the alpha channel, if it isn’t selected there is no alpha channel. Also, make sure there literally is a transparent backgroud by closing the ‘eye’ on any underlying track. I usually select the checkerboard for transparency to make sure there is a transparent background before I ever start. These settings always work for my premiere station. For my Liquid edition editing suite I use the TGA seqence which will work no matter what (in any NLE i’ve ever used).

    Good luck…
