I couldn’t figure this out either when it happened to me, so reinstalled OS X then PP & Red plugins. Drakonian, I know. OR upgrade to CS5, probably your best bet.

Have you downloaded the plugin from Red?

In CS5 keyboard customization (option H) you can open up shortcuts for Avid Express DV 3.5. I did this for FCP7, and while not perfect, it does help. Then continue customizing from there. The keyboard customization window is clunky; once you create your own custom shortcuts template you have to ‘save as’ and overwrite your own file. PP doesn’t always accept your new shortcuts either, sometimes you have to add a an option or shift key to make it work.

  • 32k sample rate is always a bitch. I check every DV camera I use and make sure it’s set to 48k. My advice is put your captured footage in a timeline, sycn as needed then export the timeline and cut from the newly created clip with 48k audio.

  • I realize this is an ancient thread, by I too am cutting a R3D feature in PP CS5, and miss having subclips. Yes I can use nested sequences, but I don’t want to because A. Will loose waveforms, and B. nervous about exporting subclips to AE as I have an effects heavy show with numerous AE editors working from different drives and can’t afford any relinking problems. Here’s what I posted about it on the Adobe PP forum:
