Part of this discussion, and it’s a critical point, is the desire to “take the audio track of a video file and convert it to editable text.”

Dragon is licensed to one voice only which means each instructor would have to purchase a license in order to use the conversion technology.

I am on a hunt for the same sort of features (professors who do interviews with authors they then want in transcript format) and I’ve come to the conclusion that if there is a software solution out there, it is the product a highly secretive [;-)] software vendor who is carefully hiding it from potential users.

I’m off to search among conference professionals to see if they have discovered any solutions.
