Event Manager X, from Intelligent Assistance can automate the moving and hiding of your events. It may help make the project more manageable since you can select what events and projects are viewable by FCPX after restarting. I had a problem with FCPX 10.0.7 hanging up on startup…I decided it was a pesky event or project file. Using Event Manager X, I reopened one-by-one and found the offending file. Not elegant, but it worked.
