    Thanks again George,
Originally I was having problems in a 4k project. I had watched a very good tutorial and I was experimenting – trying to create some titles. I can’t remember the sequence of steps I took but I do remember the plugin didn’t respond in the way it had in the tutorial. I then created an HD project with half a dozen clips and experimented and got similar problems. The first time I got it to work was when I created a single clip project as you suggested.
It’s reassuring to me that the two projects I uploaded behave in the same way on your system as that suggests, as you say, that the problem is in Pro Type. You have been very kind to have put all this effort in to trying to resolve my problem. I think now I will just not use this plugin. I use Resolve as well but Vegas Pro is better at rendering for me. I have been very impressed by the speed of the GPU assisted Magix HEVC renders. Thanks again – I have subscribed to your posts.

Thanks again George. I do have the desktop icon with the light blue V on a dark blue background. I’ve just tried your instructions several times with the same results as previously.
I set up a one clip project, messed around with the Titler settings and that appears to work as expected with clear text visible. I tried trimming the longer project I had been experimenting on to one clip with Titler added and that appears to still have the same problem it had before. I’ve uploaded the projects up to dropbox (is there a way of uploading to creative cow directly?). I also included the snip of what the problem looks like (under the compositing mode Add.

I normally work with 4K gh5 footage where I had similar problems. I have been trying with these projects to use older GH3 HD footage to simplify the load.

Incidentally, I find that Vegas 15 (bought through the Humble Pie deal) crashes a lot – hardly ever get through an hour without a crash. My previous versions of the Sony Movie Studio (?) were a lot more robust. Maybe if I could find a way of deleting that cache you talk about…….
Many thanks for sticking with this,
    Stan

    Many Thanks again George,
I tried many times doing this but I coiuldn’t get this to work with my setup. I remembered then something I have used before in previous versions of Vegas and that was how to get into the internal mode of the preferences. I did this and the top item is a reset on startup. I change this to TRUE and restarted Vegas. This appeared to work – my recent files list (under Files) was empty. However the problem with Pro Type Titler remains. Essentially in the plugin it all looks OK but on the preview window I only have this glow which moves around the path I have created. I can alter the glow by changing the Stroke and Background colour but changes to the colour and alpha in Fill have no effect and the text remains invisible. I hope I have succeeded in attaching a snip done under Add compositing mode. (Changes to the compositing mode produce the expected changes) (I tried to do this via the popup window which appeared when I clicked on the second from the end icon in the row of icons below the word “Message”)

Many thanks for your quick reply George. If I hold down the ‘Ctrl+Shift’ keys and double left click on the Vegas desktop shortcut the program just launches (or rather the user account control box pops up). If I could do a full reset this might solve some other problems – many crashes – much lower frame rate playback than just after the original install.
    Incidentally my kit is
    Intel Core i7 920 @ 2.67GHz
    RAM 16.0GB Triple-Channel DDR3 @ 534MH
Mobo ASUSTeK Computer INC. P6T SE (LGA1366)
Graphics 2047MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB (NVIDIA)
SSD system drive and a couple of other HDs
