“At least your body height plus a foot, is my general rule.”

Are you referring to the distance I should be from the board OR the distance I should be from the lights, OR both?

    Thanks.

I do not think I will ever need to write on it or touch it. I might turn to face it though. It will be more of a projection screen displaying images and text related to what I am talking about.

How far do you think I should be from the board and the lights should be from me and the board?

    Thanks.

  • Hi Mike,

The idea I have for my podcast is to review stuff on a relevant stuff on a weekly basis and I just do not see how it would be possible to contact websites and companies like Youtube and get timely enough responses to receive permission to do something like this. Not suggesting I am just going to break the law because of the inconvenience, I am just hoping to get a better idea of how others do it.

i have spent a lot of time on iTunes going through their podcast directory and there are lots of podcasts that are doing exactly the same thing that I am trying to do (showing other people products and websites and videos). I understand that they too may not be completely complying with the law. Some of the podcasts are obviously small productions produced by one person while other are much larger and from companies like Revision 3.

I just checked the BH site for the Schoeps cmc641 and this came up:

    https://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?ci=0&shs=Schoeps+cmc641&sb=ps&pn=1&sq=desc&InitialSearch=yes&O=jsp%2FRootPage.jsp&A=search&Q=*&bhs=t&Go.x=0&Go.y=0&Go=submit

Is this what you were referring to?

    Thanks!!!!

It will be used on a boom pole. It will be used most indoors though sometimes outdoors.

    Thanks!

Thanks for sharing that link. I like it, though I am not sure if it might be better to use a solid soft color background instead. The interpreters will be using their arms and hands the whole time while interpreting and am just wondering if the darks and lights in the background might make it more difficult to view.

    Hi Rick,

    1. Would it be good to use two lights to light the background instead of one?

    2. What do you mean by “drop?”

    3. How do you scrim Kinos?

    Thanks!

    Hi Dennis,

Just curious your reasons for suggesting this?

    Thanks!
