no i understand that portion i guess again my question was in regards to mixdown, and the input selection on the back of the DVCAM deck….

I played around with it yesterday and it seems to be okay if i either mixdown to 0db or -3db and leave it on +4 for the input selection….But if i am wrong and this won’t translate to broadcast tv well please let me know…thanks

    This what their specs say:

On a Betacam SP deck not above 2 VU (which is not what i am using)
Audio levels in any digital format should never reach 0db and should not peak above -6 db on a digital audio scale”

So i am fine leaving it 0db for mixdown or should i take it to -3……or is it just pointless since on the input selector on the dvcam is set to +4….I appreciate your help!

You could try DVD Transfers. Their web address is http://www.dvdtransfer.com they are located in MN and we have been using them for the past 2-3 years.

I graduated college in 2003 with radio/tv background and a very hard time finding a company to hire a fresh graduate. So instead i went to work for a professional video/camera sales store, since i dealt with all video clients it was a good way to make contacts. In fact last year one of my best clients (a production house) hired me as a full time editor. it was also a great place to keep up to date on all the latest products that were coming out in the industry. anways just my two cents…good luck
