    Jeff,

You said to “just drag it and drop it into the DVD”. Do you mean just drag and drop “Final Cut Pro” from within the applications folder to the DVD? If so, how to you reinstall? Simply drag the “Final Cut Pro” from the DVD to the applications folder to the “clean install” computer? That’s it? I’m an old Windows guy and it wasn’t that easy.

    Thanks,
    Sonny

January 8, 2011 at 1:09 pm in reply to: Not very happy with Intensity Pro

My computer doesn’t crash, but I have the same problem as Sebastian while trying to capture VHS. Capturing video from old VHS tapes was the only reason why I purchased the Intensity Pro. I wish I would have returned when I had a chance. I guess I thought for $200 it would eventually work (firmware upgrade). I first purchased Blackmagic’s Video Recorder, but I sold it and bought the Intensity Pro because thought I would get better results. Also, the Video Recorder did not capture in mov format.

What I don’t get … When everything is plugged in correctly the video capture is constantly going on and off like Sebastian stated, but when I remove the audio cables I get nothing at all. Why would this be? Shouldn’t I be able to simply capture the video signal by itself? Does this also have to do with my cheap VHS player.

Thanks Gareth … Yes that makes sense. It was kinda what I was trying to do but it wasn’t working. I will try your way soon. Thanks again. Sonny

I have the same problem and it seems to happen when the audio from the VHS tape is not that good. When the audio cuts out the video goes black (drops frames). The video also goes black if you disconnect the audio all together. It will not display any video without the audio cables plugged in. I thought this was kinda weird. I put in a different tape with excellent stereo audio and it worked fine.

Just so some aren’t confused by my earlier post (it’s too early for me).

Please disregard the folders that I listed I had with my Motion 4. I simply copied them from the tutorial (Motion 3) thinking they were the same.

Thanks Zak. Maybe they did remove them. Thanks again, Sonny

Thanks Zak. When do you sleep?

Yes, the tutorial is Motion 3 and I am using Motion 4. I could have sworn I was missing them with Motion 3, but can’t be sure. Maybe someone with Motion 3 can confirm that they are there? I will let you know if I find out anything.

There are 17 behaviors in that folder. I can’t imagine they (Apple) would remove them.

I kind of messed up describing my problem before. I am missing the “Text – 3D Move” folder containing many 3D behaviors located under Text Sequence. I only have

    Text – Basic
    Text – Fade
    Text – Glow
    Text – Misc
    Text – Move
    Text – Zoom

The tutorial is from Ripple Training called “Deep Dive” Lesson 7. It is not a free tutorial so I don’t have a link to the video, but below is a link to a snapshot taken from the tutorial showing the folder I don’t have installed.

August 20, 2009 at 12:13 pm in reply to: Moving Entire Timeline?

Noah, I guess I could do it in FCP, but is it normal for me not to be able to slide the timeline forward a few seconds without screwing everything up? I can’t figure out why things are not positioned where they were prior to the move. I have everything unlocked and selected. Thanks, Sonny
