Wait a second…..I did move all attributes into the new composition…….now im really confused. Okay, here are the steps I took:

    1. 3D camera track footage
    2. Add bullets from cinema 4d
    3. Create new solid
    4. APPLY particular and adjust jeyframes accordingly

Hmmm..that’s pretty interesting. Are you familiar with Cinema 4D? Or any 3D program, forminstance? Because I think that’s the easiest way to bend the arrow. Other than that, maybe you could try to fake the curve through some sort of distortion, or a lens effect but I don’t think it will get the best result. But try googling a curved arrow effect and maybe you’ll find something interesting.

    5. Precompose solid with particular (moved attributes into nee comp)
    6. Precomposed base footage (did not precompose the track data or c4d data) (moved attribute into new comp)
7 apply displacement map onto solid precomp

So basically take my solid that has the TrapCode Particular effect applied to it, precompose it and select move attributes into the new comp? Alright, I will get back to you once I have done that.

Hey thanks for the replies! I’ll be sure to check out Red Giant’s Text Anarchy, as I own it but didn’t use it yet.

Hmm.wait. It does seem to look slightly static to me. Is that the issue? Or am I missing something here?

I’m not entirely sure what is weird about the dots, but I personally don’t see much.

Hmm. Okay, I’ll see what I can do with my footage. If the scene was to be shot only for a second or two, could I get away with a still image of the footage and mask individual objects out and trackmat them?

Wow hilarious coincidence! I was just watching that video today and it totally saved my life, and made me feel stupid for not knowing this simple technique, being pretty advanced in motion graphics. Yes I have a green screen and I shot some test footage to create the effect well and it turned out pretty darn good! Thank you so much!
