ok so to get things straight before i proceed, i apply the tag to each bullet, go into ae and make the particular on the solid, create a new light in ae, parent it to the particle solid, and change the emitter to the light. ok. So about the displacement….what do i pre-compose to apply the displacement map to?

Omg, that is freakin’ awesome! I think I understand now. So just apply that external compositing tag to the bullet (each of them, or just one of them?) and then make that solid and extract the data, and then make the particular solid and parent it to the c4d solid?

Yea, I was gonna say the same thing, and man that is a huge file! Other than that, I’m not sure what else advice to give you…….good luck, however.

In the CC version, I just:
1) Use the 3D Camera Tracker to track the footage
2) Create a null off of one of thr tracking points
3) export the camera and null as a c4d file
4) edit the c4d file in cinema 4D
5) once done animating, go back to After Effects, the changes are already made in AE
6) Then should I make the new solid?\”It\’s all around us Neo, temporary constructs of time…..\”

Ok, whatever , I got that. Let’s say I export the file. Would I then create a new solid, and apply particular to it, and then parent it to the c4d file?

I’m using the Cc edition, so I’m good there. So basically, I animate the bullet as needed, and then I go back to After Effects and then I…..I just make the solid with Particular and parent it?

Well, I thinkI get the basic idea, so basically I’m gonna animate the bullet in c4d, and when I go back in AE, do I parent the particular to the c4d file? I know this is supposed to be straightforward, but I tend to become slightly confused when it comes to something like this.

I’m specifically confused about actually creating the trail with trapcode.

Well, that really does loom awesome, but I don’t think I can fling my DSLR around, but I figured out how to do it anyway. Thanks!
