Nice One Todd, copying to a new Proj/Seq helped me to isolate the dodgy file

I found a file called “mad tunnel” on the timeline and in the browser that was causing this search. Everything fine after I deleted those files and re-imported them.

took a long long time to isloate the exact file as the popup comes up about 8 times, you hit stop, spinning ball, then cancel, more spinning ball x that by 8 just to check one file or move the playhead once

    what an absolute PITA!!

My computer keyboard is still in one piece and there’s no holes in the walls so no harm done….lol

no joy with that either, I must be copying the problem over somehow

I’ll try and copy the first half of the sequence over then the second see if i can isolate the culprit

I can’t believe this is happening to be honest….ridiculous

it’s nearly 2AM here in UK, would be nice to get this fixed b4 bed…best make a coffee….ha haaa

    Hi Tod,

thanks for the reply but no joy

I got that far first off but the file its trying to find doesn’t even appear on the list.

tried deleting all prefs, changed scratch disks, tried copying another file to the same name and pointing to that but its greyed out

    totally gazumped on this one

there must be a way of deleting the reference to that file within the project

I went to render manager and deleted all render files, re-saved project, opened it up again…and it still popped up again trying to find this damn file….nightmare

been at this for hours now

crikey this is getting very frustrating,

this message just keeps coming, every time I press cancel up it pops again, it barely gives me time to go to a menu.

I did manage to render so I have no red render bars at all, all the clips are there.

What’s FCP’s problem with this file, I don’t even need

I’m going to change scratch disks and delete prefs

Why does it insist on trying to find this file!!

    Anybody?
