  • I know this is a late reply but I believe I have solved this issue.

    In the Preview panel:
    – Alt-Click on the ‘undo’ arrow icon located to the right of Shortcut.

This resets the preview options to the classic defaults.

    Hope this helps!

    Hi,

Well kind of, I just used a chunky font and buried the connection point inside the letter and also added an extra connection point closer to the edge of the letter, as I said in one of my previous posts. That’s the only way I could get the letter to remain attached to the string without a gap appearing.

    Best of luck!

Thanks, but that’s no good to me. I just bought a printer and I want to use it, not just look at it lol

Thanks, that’s a lesson I’m learning the hard way by the looks of it. I bought the laser printer with a view to printing out flyers but now I’m not sure it’s the right printer for the job.

Is there any way you know of to make the prints look better? I have a flyer here that I’m guessing was printed on a laser printer and whilst it doesn’t have a high gloss, wherever there is solid colour there is a bit of a sheen, yet wherever there is no colour there doesn’t appear to be any sheen at all. It looks like the opposite of my test prints.

    Thanks,

    Simon

Thanks, I purchased what was advertised as (Xerox) laser photo paper but it came in a plain package. I asked them if it was genuine laser paper and they said yes, it was Xerox laser paper, but they split the pack to sell in smaller packs. The prints weren’t glossy at all, but the paper was glossy wherever the printer had not printed, which made me think that maybe I had been sold inkjet paper. I’ll take a sample into a store when I get time to see if they know if it’s laser or inkjet paper.

I’m going to be more careful in future, to make sure what I am buying is in fact laser paper. Just hope it’s not too late!

    Thanks,

    Simon

February 15, 2014 at 10:45 am in reply to: Text shadow not working in Internet Explorer?

    Hi Herbert,

Thank you very much for replying. It had me stumped as well! I noticed the wriggly red underline myself and was wondering why that line was being disabled. Removing the line in the head that you pointed me to solved the issue and the text shadow is now working fine. Brilliant!

I’m not sure why the developer would have left that line in. As you say, it might have been for testing purposes.

Anyway, thanks very much for your help!

  • Hi Susan,

Did you mean to say the finished product is ONLY video? If you are saying that the final video doesn’t have sound then I’m not sure why. Going by your description it should have both video and audio. The only thing I can think of is, did you render the entire timeline first? Or maybe check your media player or speakers?

    Hi,

Oh man, you’re going to love this! It suddenly came to me last night, your JS Chain Fiddle is exactly what I need. For some reason I had it in my mind that it had to be part of a cycler, but since in this case I only need three images to fade in then stop on the third image, a cycler isn’t needed. I’m assuming the images can fade in on top of each other using your method, perhaps by setting the z-index higher on each image. I don’t know why I didn’t realize sooner, it must be because I have too much going on in my little mind lol 🙂

Fully understand what you mean about posting just the code with the issue, will do that in the future.

Well, thanks again and sorry it took me a few days for it to sink in!

    Simon.

Okay, I was just hoping there might be a single line fix to this like there was with the other issue (the issue of hiding the other cycler images until the first one is displayed) as it seems like a similar issue to someone who doesn’t know JS. I see now that it requires more than that.

Thank you for the time you have spent helping me out. You have spent much more time helping me than I expected and have offered much more script examples than I expected. It’s always you who seems to reply to my queries. Maybe others should have a go sometimes as you shouldn’t be expected to handle it all yourself, though you do a good job all by yourself. It boggles my mind how you find the time to write out all the JS Fiddles.

    Thanks again,

Thanks, the issue I am having occurs when the cycler fades in for the first time on page load. The cycler fades in very slowly, with the other images slightly visible as it fades in. Not sure which of the examples on the link you attached has this slow fade in effect from page load?
