Thanks – I did have all that in the code already and it’s still not working. On the plus side I found a conditional CSS style for IE that DW automatically added which was adding additional padding at the top of the sidebar. When I removed it it helped with the background issue, but the background graphic still isn’t lining up exactly at the bottom.

Thanks for all your great suggestions and assistance!

Thank you so much for taking a second look. I deleted that rule and it’s still happening in IE 🙁 Will browsers ever be standardized so we don’t have to deal with such hiccups?

Thanks you for checking! Glad to hear it renders properly somewhere 😉

I’m using Vista Home and it’s adding some additional space at the bottom of the pink background graphic behind main text and also adding additional margin above the first graphic on the left sidebar menu. Any ideas on a possible fix for IE on non Vista-64 machines? Sorry, I’ve tried everything I can possibly think of (clearing floats, positioning the background with a Y value, negative bottom margins…) 🙁

    Thanks so much,
    Shweta

Thanks so much! I was able to clear the background out but now the submenu items have a little space in between the buttons. I can live with it though 😉

Many thanks for your assistance, I really appreciate it!!

Thanks so much Mike. I think I have a lot to learn about all this stuff 😉 I was able to get the content to shift back over to the center of the main container through the CSS.

I really appreciate the resources you sent and your great suggestions.

    Many, many thanks!

  • Thanks Mike! I ran the page through the validator and corrected the errors that it identified so now the page is W3C validated but the issue is still happening in IE. Any other thoughts?

  • Thanks so much! I’ll give it a try…
