October 16, 2012 at 6:18 pm in reply to: Compressing HD Upconvert (136gb) to Downloadable HD File (1.5gb)The file is a 1920×1080 ProRes 422 HQ.
Its 1 hour and 29 minutes long.
Im trying to basically just go to a much smaller 1920×1080 file if thats at all possible…its not my idea, haha.
I can see if he wants to go to 720 but i think the goal was to get it under 1.5gb and keep the 1920×1080 res.
Any more info, lemme know!
Thanks for the help.

June 26, 2012 at 4:29 pm in reply to: Transistion Making Background Show Through UnevenlyActuAlly I tried exporting the entire clip and reimporting… Amazingly enough, same thing happens!
Its only happening on that one video too…I’ve started a new project multiple times to no avail.

Yeah that makes sense. An example of my common situation is capturing tapes…if I start capturing and walk away from the computer, while it’s working, to do other things – and keep checking if it’s done yet…
It’s not like I set up a capture and go on vacation and come back and charge for those hours, haha. But I was just curious what the norm for professionals would be.
An hour tape to capture = 1 hour of work charged more or less?

Right, I was thinking that way of doing things wasn’t the highest quality “pro-way” of doing it…seemed more like a quickie output and exporting direct to compressor was the legit way to do it…but i see its basically just exporting your project as ProRes and not compressing it at all…then you can just bring that exported timeline/project into compressor and do a robust, detailed export with really honed in settings, etc….not just to export something real quick and throw it up on youtube.
Im trying to export a music video i filmed and edited as the highest quality as a sort of “master copy” that is the absolute highest possible quality, just for reference.

So basically export media and just use ProRes or “current settings” then throw that in to compressor and that will allow me to keep max quality and control by using compressor to export h264 or whatever else?
Sounds good…give it a try when I get home.

Yeah, i mean i can individually disable audio in each little clip but the trick T Payton showed before would do it with just a click or two instead of manually doing it each single clip.
For some reason the clips are showing Video, Dialogue instead of them separately….i tried breaking apart the audio but when i hit disable it still disabled the video as well…
This is a picture of what I’m looking at when i select all the dialogue (which is also Role’d as video)

hmm no dice…
here is what i got right now…type in dialogue to filter only roles with dialogue in them…then i hit V with them all selected and nothing happens and i get that little “nope, nice try” beep thing and nothing happens…

Ok,
So when i go to disable the scratch audio in the clips that are labeled as “Dialogue” role, i type in the word “Dialogue” and then select all clips, then i hit “V” and it doesn’t do anything…
What am i doing wrong?
