    Hi All,

We have 6 AF101’s (PAL version of the AF100) and there is a video delay of approx 3 frames. I know this is a huge delay but luckily for us we have 6 so we have no issue’s except we have to insert a delay between the mixer and the recorder.

But it is a video delay on the AF101, not an audio delay.

By the way the AF101 is not the right tool at all for multicamera jobs but hindsight is 20/20 and thats not what the were mainly bought for.

I haven’t seen any delay on the Atem. We did have a problem with a three frame delay with AF101 coming off either HDSDI or HDMI but this is a recognized problem with the AF101’s but there was no delay with the ATEM.

You might want to check if its the camera’s you are using.

    Hi,

Just used it to provide a stream of the Dalai Lama’s visit to Goethe University, Frankfurt. Did really, really well. Pictures looked great & the Media Pool is easy to use even in the stress of a live setting. We were using Panasonic AF101’s (AF 100 in the US). Pictures really looked stunning. It’s a great system for a small production. We didn’t have a UPS but I think thats our next purchase.

Oh I used a Mac Book Pro to control it & a Mac pro to send the stream out via SDI to an old Blackmagic Extreme HD2 then to wirecast & then to Ustream & an additional HDMI-DVI going to a mediasite for internal Streaming. We also recorded a clean feed for edit & Archive.

Week after next we have a week of kids lectures in the University to be streamed for local schools, should give the Atem a good try out. Let you know.

Good luck with the Republican Straw Poll gig.

  • HI,

I am lucky enough to have a ATEM switcher & control panel & to be honest you still need a computer even with a control. The media pool is only stored in volatile memory so you need to attach it to a laptop to put in any media for a show. This may be changed in a future version All the key’s are much easier to control on a computer as well – but can be done on the control panel. But I think for the price it is head & shoulders better value than anything else out there. The HDMI source we are using is a Sony FX 1000 720p. Seems to have no problem with accepting it. We will be getting Panasonic AF101’s so I’ll let you know how we get on.

Obviously all the other equipment mentioned is a given. Monitor’s, audio, recording & intercom.

    Hi,

It’s my first post on Creative Cow! We also have a switcher & mixer on order. Planning to use it for the 22nd of June so I too will be in trouble if they are not released here (German) soon.
