Great thread, it helped me a lot. Can I sync up my codecs on a Cannon GL2 and a Sony HDR-FX1?

I tried the settings you recomended, and still no luck. FCP is reading the camera but will not import footage. One thing I have noticed is on my Sony HDR-FX1 where the firewire connects to the camera, there is a two blue lights, with the words, “HDV” and “DV” and while the firewire is connected the blue light is on HDV, when I hit “Play” to begin importing footage, the blue light switches to “DV”, the import screen stays black and does not import any footage. I’m wondering if maybe there is a setting on the camera I’m missing that is trying to get it to import as “DV” instead of “HDV”.

My camera is the SONY HDr-FX1 and my computer is a MAC OS X Version 10.5.8 and I’m running the newest version of Final Cut Pro, i’m importing with a Belkin 800/400 9-pin to 4-pin Firewire Cable.

Any imput would be great!

Hey Ryan, your post contains the answer to my question, but those two screenshots you linked to no longer are valid, is there anyway you could reconect those?
