    Are you being obtuse Richard? if you mark an in and an out either in your Timeline or Record (or Program) window and that duration exceeds the duration of the clip in to out in your source window, it give you an error of “insufficient content” despite whether or not the source clip does in fact have the content to cover the edit you’ve requested. So you have to go to the source window and clear your out mark and then go back to the timeline or Record window to execute the overwrite or insert. In Avid and FCP7 (I think) there was is an option to “ignore out mark” of the source and make the edit. I cannot find a workaround for this in Premiere beyond clearing the out mark in the source and it’s one of about 1000 inefficiencies marring an otherwise pleasant editing experience on Premiere.
