“Have you tried a cable from the Tascam with the boom input into your camera? (instead of using the Tascam built in mics) There are special cables to make sure the levels are correct.”
I use the line out to camera mic cable at the moment, it works fine using both the tascam mics and with my boom mic plugged in.
“The advantage is it provides the quality of the boom mic without the issue of cable noise on the boom pole or cable impairing movement. You’d probably want/need to go through Tascam or other box before going into camera but I’m not sure. ”
I have had a look at some of the options you mentioned already, but spending that much money on a wireless kit just isn’t really in my budget. I was looking at the Azden as it seems to be a really low price for what you get. I am not sure if it sacrifices audio quality though.
My idea is to definitely go through the mixer before the wireless transmitter unit, I would never try going wireless without a mixer, I really want my sound op to have full control over the levels. I might end up taking a gamble on the Azden as it is quite cheap. Thanks a lot for your response 😀
