Well.. I went back to the scource tapes and doubled checked the TC. And each tape starts on a different hour… Tape 1 = 01, Tape 2 = 02 etc… If the XL1 always resets with each new tape to 00, how is this possible? The footage was shot on this XL1 sitting on my desk. I’m an editor not a camera person.
    Thanks So Much,
    Chris

Your not the only one.. I gave up on mine. I use DVDSP to encode DV and it seems to work just fine.

Well, how do people advance the hour. So each tape has a seperate start hour? XL-1 does that right?
    Thanks, Thax

    Eric,
If your using compressor I guess your going to a DVD. Why not export the audio out of FCP as an AIFF file and then import it in to DVDSP and resync it? Save yourself the compression strangeness. I read thats what they were doing last year when Compression 1 was throwing everything out of sync. Just a thought.. I’m kind of having the same problem and looking for a work around.

Ah yeah… kind of annoying huh? Sort of like anti-lock brakes on a race car.
I think we’re stuck with that one buddy.

I’m running FinalCutHD or 4.5 and DVDsp4 and all the Adobes. It all works perfectly. Just no clock.

It happened after I plugged in a clients firewire drive. Its been running fine since then (4 weeks), I haven’t replaced the battery yet.
