How did you form that conclusion? Animation at 100% quality is considered lossless.
You can check out the Sheer video codec. I don’t remember if it can do alpha channels or not.

Something’s wrong with your machine. My parents have a Mac Mini G4 (not an Intel, a frickin G4) and I’ve watched fullscreen 480p Apple Trailers over there several times.

If you check anamorphic and put it in an anamorphic sequence, then it does not alter anything or affect quality. If you check anamorphic and place it in a non-anamorphic sequence, then it automatically creates a letterbox by adjusting the “Distort” setting in the Motion tab.

Neither of those options use FCP to remove pulldown. The first option is Cinema Tools. When you remove pulldown in Cinema Tools, you park the playhead on a frame and then tell it which one it is. I find BC the easiest to identify.
The second option is JES. It automatically detects cadence breaks. It works flawlessly most of the time, but for quick rapid cuts it may not always work.
None of these options are good or easy (including EDL conversions). That is why editing 24p footage at 24p from the very beginning is always the best option.

It doesn’t cost money or require toys. All you need is a computer. And I’m not picking on you personally. There’s like 4 or 5 people in this thread who’ve also never seen this before. Frankly, I find it a bit weird.

Yes, I have. Many, many times. You guys are living in a cave if you haven’t seen fullscreen HD streaming until recently. Netflix Instant Viewing, for example, is 2200kbps. And they call it Instant Viewing for a reason.
I think your confusion exists because you use the Quicktime Player browser plugin. It doesn’t have a fullscreen button for some reason. Every other player does. Flash 9 now supports h264 (which isn’t much different than VC1 or Divx) so I guess this is the first time you’ve seen h264 full screen.

They’ve been using QTL links instead of the QT browser plugin for a while now. So you can watch fullscreen in the regular QT Player. If you’re on a cable modem, you can start playback immediately.Divx Stage 6 has been around so long they just shut it down recently:

They had HD streaming since 2006. That’s 2006, as in 2 years ago.There’s many more. Maybe certain streaming server services suck, and I guess you’re trying to sell this one or something and you’re saying it doesn’t suck. That’s cool, but please don’t pretend this is some amazing new technology.

I just started using Flash 8 instead of QT for sending videos to clients. I bought Squeeze and am pretty happy with it. I’m also happy with VP6. I find the quality to size ratio to be really good actually. I use the 1mbps preset, which is good enough for everyone except for those who have the cheapest consumer DSL plan.
If you find a solution for SWF player skins, please let me know about it. The ones that come with Squeeze are a joke. I mean they’re so bad it’s laugh-out-loud funny. I’m resorting to 3rd party apps to make the SWF files – which is a serious pain.
