Thank you Tim. Can you suggest tutorials to get up to par on rotoscoping?

Thanks for the reply. The commercials reference cut between old news conferences with since retired coaches to actors cracking wise-ass questions. The content is a bit tedious but my point is that the coaches were not shot against a green screen. The ads replace the curtains with team logos and sponsors that were in the original new conferences with Coors Light logos.

That being said, the original source footage was not shot over anything that can be keyed. It was shot over in front of a hospital wall with a computer monitor in the background.

I don’t mind the tedium of separating the speaker from the background if it’s going to look good afterwards. Are the tools here sophisticated enough to do that? I’ll check them out either way. Thanks for the tip!

Thank you Todd. Your post led me to going into the properties of the imported folders and unchecking the “read only” box and, voila! Problem fixed.

I was a bit disappointed at the accuracy of the footage once it was analyzed though. It was a series of interviews that I conducted and the translation bore little resemblance to what they said in many places. It was probably about 60% accurate. I’m sure that’s likely to do with the limits of voice recognition technology and that when that gets better, that this will be a huge time saver. Rock on, CS5!
