    Thanks for your quick response. I had upgraded from Final Cut Studio 1 a few months ago, and I know for sure FCS1 & QT gave the option for mpeg2. I never used Compressor, but I guess now I’ll need to use it.

    I’m new on forum. Have similar problem, but working in SD. Working with hi-res (3.5 mp) stills on timeline. Project originally created in FCP 4, but I recently migrated from old Mac G4, to new MacPro with FCP 6. Before the migration, I had no resolution problem. But now, stills on timeline look very low res in both canvas and viewer, even though file size is still 3.5 mp. I did a test by re-importing an image, thinking default import settings are different in FCP 6. When viewing this image in canvas it still looks low res, but in viewer it is now the hi-res image it should be. I’ve searched all settings, but can’t find anything that would be causing this.
