[Richard Herd] “It should be DAW-style in all NLEs: audio clip collisions create an overlap audio auto-cross-fade.”

As long as it can be turned off in preferences somewhere. I want to do those manually, not have the system do it for me.

[Dennis Radeke] “I find the Wikipedia article to give a fairly good sense of the changes from one version to another. I’m pretty sure it’s an Adobe employee who keeps the article up to date.”

Thanks Dennis. I will keep a log when I start my trial. Might be an interesting post we can debate in the future!

[Kannan Raghavan] “I went with Ripple training for FCP X.”

Agreed. For X and Motion, Ripple was my favorite. Those guys rock!

[Kannan Raghavan] “Between Lynda.com and Adobe press, which one would you suggest for somone new to PrPro?”

I have used Lynda.com for a lot of things. It’s simply my “go-to” training site.

    Hi Dennis –

The 30 days starts from the time you install the software not the download date, correct? I want to start the trial on my Mac Pro at my office on Monday, not when I downloaded the installer yesterday.

I am actually looking forward to seeing what the improvements are in CC versus CS6. Like it or not, Premier is something that freelancers need to know these days.

Agreed, James. No problems at all on my side either. Not sure what others are doing but I am not seeing it.

[Herb Sevush] “Amen to that. it would be like judging X on a first year version.”

Problem is that it’s not the first version of PP, correct? I mean, CS6 is “pretty sucky” indeed. Anyhow, I assume that to do the free Cloud trial I won’t have to subscribe or put credit card digits out there?

[Bob Zelin] \”If you would look at some of the Creative Cow user forums once in a while, instead of watching \”The Golf Channel\” and \”Real Wives of New Jersey\”, you would know where to find this information. \”

What was that line from “Stripes”?

    “Lighten up, Francis”.

For me, it’s more about production this year. New client at the end of 2014 needs a lot of content, so I bought the FS100, good set of sticks and fluid head, LED light panels….and insurance.

Post will be FCPX and some Premiere (only if specifically requested). Avid is dead in my market, which let me ignore the upgrade deadline and just move on. No regrets. Hoping I can get Resolve running properly and add that to the tool box. X plug-ins as needed.

[Bob Woodhead] “I love to be able to tell the story of walking 5 miles through a snowstorm to get to work and then editing on that beastly stuff.”

Hell, get him that “portable” one-inch machine we had years and years ago (cannot remember the model). If he can thread that boat-anchor in one minute, he is ready. 😉
