I saw that Dat-Optix the other day. It looks really nice and I am seriously considering it. I’ve built a Burly Box enclosure form MacGurus for a friend. Worked great, but a little loud. The Sonnet box looks pretty good also.

Bob, you don’t have to be that bold. Basically that was what I was asking. Like you said, interface aside (personal preference, I work with both and like both) It seemed to me the Adrenaline was basically like the high end AJA or Blackmagick products but at a considerable increase in cost.

Thanks Bob, That was what I came up with from reading the specs of the Avid+Adrenaline combo and a FCP+AJA combo. Both seemed equivalent yet in the Adrenaline literature (granted on the Avid website) it seemed so much more. I always wondered how the hell did a device attached by FW accelerate anything.

What do you mean by workhorse. Taking out th DA/AD capabilities; what does the Andrenaline add that the MC software only version is not able to do? More realtime? If so, how much more? Etc?
