Thanks, Richard. I tend to work on effects as I go, rather than finishing everything at the end, so I don’t know how messy that approach would be. Definitely something to think about though – especially if doing a kind of online after offline.

Hi, Richard. This doesn’t work for me in CC. I read somewhere else you were on CS6. I wonder if this is a bug in CC? I’ve read several others saying they can’t create multicam sequences from merged clips either.

Sorry, Craig, I meant audio dissolves. I actually apply them all at once, to all six tracks – I select the end of all six tracks and use a keyboard shortcut. It’s just when I want to change them that I have to select each one individually to adjust its duration.

Because, Richard….the reality is that you have to use what clients want you to use. There are also solid benefits to using Premiere. It’s better for effects than Avid.

Thanks, Craig. You are right about markers. IN marks are the first choice in the merge clips dialogue box and a standard way of syncing in other NLEs, so that’s why I was going with them. The Adobe training manual said nothing about using markers over IN marks. However, they don’t seem to be at all suited to selecting audio – behaving completely differently to other NLEs.

Chris….that works pretty well for single clips, but multicam won’t play…even at 1/8.

David, thanks for your attempt to help, but I don’t understand the negativity. I told you what system I was running. I don’t know why you thought it was an issue of emotion vs. science. I wasn’t asking if I could cut natively. I was asking for an offline/online workflow, which I can definitely handle. Apologies for not clueing in about drive configuration (I’m working off a portable 2TB USB 3). Obviously buying a new system is not the answer. I would like to know what to do with the footage I have on the system I’ve got.
