Thanks Shane,

The Media creation titles are set to DNXHD 185 MXF. I forgot to mention that the project is using AMA. I just googled a consistent error message: “SPF Play consumer execute timeout” and I think the problem may be that the A cam audio hasn’t been transcoded. It’s AVC High 422 Intra. No assistant or tech support here, and its a public broadcaster.

Sigh. . .

Hi Glenn,

Thanks for the advice. Will certainly give this a try.

The footage is XAVCIntra and Prores, and is accessed via AMA, only 5 hrs or so. The external drive is a 4tb Lacie which is about half full. I was interested to read Stacey’s post about de-activating, so will follow this as well.

Hi, Sorry, found the problem. Due to a shortage of screen real estate, I discovered the command palette was open and hidden from view. Closed it and all is well. Doh!

Thanks for this. Yes I am doing something similar, and it sounds like the files are huge whatever you do, but great to have your advice. One further question, if you’ll forgive my ignorance on this. Is the DNxHD codec 1:1 online resolution? ie no conform needed? And is it a smaller file size than MXF 1:1?
