    It’s an order-of-operations issue in Premiere that I’ve run into. When you drop progressive footage into an interlaced timeline the first thing that premiere does is ‘interlace’ it, and then applies all other manipulations after that. Another work-around without rendering out is to drop your 24p footage into its own 24p timeline, reverse and otherwise manipulate it there, then drop that timeline into your final interlaced timeline.

    Thank you very much for the reply. That is exactly the type of thing I have been looking for. The price is a little higher than I was looking for. Seems to be about $4000 each. Probably more than I can justify. Might look into setting up a rack of mac minis or something with FCX and a BlackMagic shuttle each. Cost about a third as much to do it that way, although a little more effort and maintenance.
