Err… yeah. Case of progressive male refrigerator blindness now extended to software. I was right clicking but not going into the Timeline submenu.

Thanks for for your indulgence Glenn and sorry for my wasting forum bandwidth.

  • Hi guys,

I’m still running El Capitan (aka El Crapitan) on my early 2008 MP. However, at this date I’m on Resolve Studio 14.3 and have experienced no issues with it at all, so far. FYI, Blackmagic specifies macOS 10.12.6 Sierra, but as I say, no problems so far. Your mileage may vary, so approach with caution.

Brent, I’ve seen various methods of updating to Sierra with the MacPro 3.1, but didn’t want to deal with possible issues like having problems with regular OS security updates, etc. Have you encountered the like?

    Thanks.

    Hi again,

Just blundered through putting a LUT and applying the OFX “Soften & Sharpen” on a node. Really like the node work flow so far.

Thanks for the replies guys. I follow on some limited level, but it’s mostly “Greek” to me – old Avid/FCP7 habits die hard.

Consequentially, it looks like I’m going to be in the market for some on-line Resolve training. If you have any recommendations, let me know.

    Thanks again.

  • SOLVED – thank you Brent. The CUDA driver was up to date, but I was using the default OS X driver. I followed your link to the Nvidia driver and updated. The problem is gone and I now have the Nvidia driver system panel. Couldn’t find a compatible update last time I searched that would install on El Capitan. (I do use go-ogle.com but couldn’t find it in my delirium.) THANKS for the suggestion and link.

A note to Michael, you’re right. I’ll do as you suggest.

Thanks to you both and the Holy Cow.

  • Hi Brent,

Yes, I’ve tried resetting PRAM and the SMC before I even posted. I’m running a multiple OS machine, so I do that as a matter of course due to switching between OS versions.

I was wondering if this was an issue with Resolve 14 because it’s in beta, so I was curious if anyone else was having the issue. Obviously, no one else has come forward. BTW, thank you for your interest and the sole response to my query.

Apple has dropped my machine from Sierra, but I’m considering hacking the installation. Here’s a reference on that subject: https://all-about-apple.com/install-macos-sierra-older-macs/

    I’ll report any developments.
