As far as needing to green screen key also, can I presume you would recommend my keying I render the ProRes4444 timeline? …..given that I am starting with 1080/60i….does that follow logic?

Given the fact that the footage was shot on a Sony EX3 at 1080/60i (interlaced), I presume this is a disadvantage in keying over full frame content (?)

And second, would you recommend that I render the footage out in the timeline in a ProRes codec I key it.

Then I presume your advice is to export useing “ProRes 4 x 4”? Pardon my newbie_ness.

Hello,

I need to key footage that was a.) lit fairly poorly against a green screen, and b.) shot on a sony ex3 at 1080 60i.
First of all I am presuming that the footage being 1080/60i/interlaced, this is a disadvantage?

Should I be considering rendering the footage out in a different timeline codec before applying key filters?

Thanks Jerry, Been a snake it a bit me. Never came across this workflow need before…

Any suggestions for batch settings as source is xdcam 1080i and will eventually be compressed to flash?

I don’t have a kona or matrox card. Just viewing via my apple display and an HD monitor attached.

Here’s the , thing. After a night of sleeping on it, the problem has disappeared!
I had viewed it for a week on this footage. Even came through on QT compressions. HMM!

Hello,

I have two machines, one FCP 7.1 with Leopard the other with FCP 7.1 Snow Leapard. The snow leopard machine needs more testing, but at first test, I am seeing large white, not grain per sae, but more like electronic snow, showing in the 1080i footage I imported from EX3 files.
Both mac pros are new, the 10.6 machine brand new.
The Leopard machine doesn’t seem to have this electronic snow problem. Still testing, looking for feedback, will let you know what I find.
