Thank you for the tip, but the thing is – it works for my colleague 🙂
He has a different camera though, the HDR-FX1. Unfortunately he is another city,
so I can’t easily test if it is the camera or the software setup that is to blame.

I have also tried capturing directly to the internal drive, still with General Error.
Is this an error that can appear if the target disk is too slow? I actually though that
HDV had the same data throughput as DV, or am I mistaken here?
