I had planned to upgrade to Vegas Pro 14 when it came out. I guess I’ll have to modify that plan. My last upgrade was Vegas Pro 11 and it has worked fine for my purposes.
One last upgrade was all I needed for the near future. I wonder if Sony will offer a discount for upgrades that are available now? Glad I kept my Amiga Toaster in working condition!

I think there are two issues regarding converting VHS to DV.
    1. Using an old Mini DV camera as a convertor to change to VHS signal to Digital is a great idea. VHS into Mini DV Into Computer.
    2. Was the VHS tape recorded with the HI-FI Sound track? VHS-HIFI had a stereo soundtrack imbedded in the Video Track and it also had a separate mono soundtrack on the edge of the tape. You could dub/replace the mono soundtrack, and using the audio monitor button on the VHS-HIFI playback recorder select the mono track, HIFI-Stereo Track or both together. There was also some recorders that had a stereo non HIFI track on the edge that could be dubbed on.
Sorry if this is confusing but you may need a different VHS/S-VHS playback machine, then play with the audio monitor button for the correct output!

    scroll text alternative-
Go to media generator select sony text you will notice for modifiers
    1. edit, 2. placement, 3. properties, 4. effects

1: EDIT type or cut and paste text from any text editor. If you use a word .doc you may have to modify the text.
2: PLACEMENT Grab text and move it to the bottom of the Screen. Add a new point at the end of the time line, then move the text to the top of the screen.
3: PROPERTIES: Adjust the font color and change the background as needed.
4: EFFECTS: Check the outline box and adjust the color, size and feather to your liking. Check the shadow box and adjust.

Save to disk and these settings will be available in the media generator.

I have been using the scroll media generator, adding track motion for the outline and shadow, but just last week I need to copy a large text file into VEGAS 5.0 for a customer. This works fine.

Good Luck and be patient while rendering
