So I re-installed 4.2.1 off the web checking the Universal boxes (I’m pretty sure I did Universal the first time). Each time I open a title done in Red 3.0 get a red box in the viewer window with the AE effects error- unable to locate Boris Red 3.0 FCP Filter.

Yesterday I couldn’t even create a title in 4.2. I could type it but it wouldn’t let me change it to bold or italic. Today for some reason it will. Odd behavior.

I’m wondering if its just cleaner and better in the long run to bite the bullet and just build new titles from here on out rather than bogging down the system?

    Thanks for your help…

    Peter,

One final question. I just want to make sure I’m renaming the right filters. Where would I find those? Application support? I assume these are Boris Filters not BCC filters?

Thanks for you patience with the dumb questions…

    Thanks Peter,

Do I need to uninstall 4.2 first? If so, any guidance on how to do that? Also, should I uninstall Red 4.0? Wondering if that causes compatibility problems. I imagine installing REd 3.0 on the same machine would cause a nightmare?

    Thanks again,

    Ron

    Thanks.

I’ll try those sgugestions, although dropping the clip onto the timeline and rendering still resulted in choppy video

    Jeremy,

Thanks! The downconvert to beta looks great- perfectly smooth. Its nice not to have to render- I guess in thinking about it- it makes sense that the Kona board should handle this no problem.

    Thanks again

I’m having a similar issue downconverting some fast-motion sports video shot at 720p 60p to beta SP using a Kona LH.

Can someone post a quick workflow for doing this that eliminates the stutter? I’m doing an easy setup in FCP using NTSC uncompressed 8 bit, puitting the 720P clips on that NTSC timeline and rendering.

What should the sequence settings be?.

What does the following really mean? “You said the you are working 720p24 in 59.94 anyway. That means you are working in 60p.” If its a 720p24 clip, how do you work in 59.94?

    Thanks for any insight.

We figured out what the problem was. The card needs to have the write protection switch on to be seen. Couldn’t find that in the manual.
