<div>Thanks Mark for the reply. You are correct, once I sync a dance move, when it repeats, copying and pasting those frames along the soundtrack does work and makes it easier. I have more control of my animation if I have different frames for each section rather than repeat them. So if, say, I repeat frames 1-10 for a dance move three times, then I am bound to keep those frames the same if I ever want changes. So if I edit things to make the character blink and smile, he’s going to do that at the exact same time the exact same way three times because frames 1-10 are the same for that dance move. But if I render frames 1-30, and I time frames 1-10, frames 11-20, and frames 21-30 the same, then the timing is the same, but I can have the control to make custom edits differently for the same dance moves.</div><div>
So again, if I want the merchant to smile in frames 1-10, blink in frames 11-20, and wear sunglasses in frames 21-30, I maintain the control to do that.
That’s why I render all 200 frames, and not…say…50 frames and repeat them along the soundtrack. It’s about control.
I think ideally, Aseprite pixel editor software needs to incorporate sound syncing. Then as I animate, I can place what I want where I want precisely. Doing this between two software programs is essentially the issue, I conclude. So I’m going to write the company and keep my fingers crossed 🙂
